This is the
fourth book in
Shan's Demonata
series, which
follows several
main characters
who all live in
different places
and times. This
title is set in
pre-Christian
Ireland, far
removed from the
previous books.
Bec is the
adolescent
apprentice to a
priestess in a
small village
cut off from the
rest of the
country by
nightly demon
attacks.
After a
particularly
bloody attack,
Bec joins a band
of warriors who
journey out of
the city to find
allies and
possibly a way
to stop the
attacks. On the
way, the company
learns how the
Demonata are
entering this
world.
This series
is enthralling,
grotesque and
surprisingly
sophisticated
for a
young-adult
series and will
more than
satisfy seasoned
horror fans and
history buffs
alike.
