• 3 faces of Mr Crepsley

    14 March 2020

I thought it would be nice to follow up yesterday's Mr Crepsley-starring meme with some cool new fan art of our favourite orange-haired vampire.

First up, in full profile, carrying Madam Octa, is a drawing by a fan called Dina.

The second, with the full head of bright orange hair, is by Devan.

The third, with the cropped hair, is by Kimaii.

I love how the same character has been interpreted so differently by the three artists. It's the reason I often given when I talk about the power of books and why there's still a place for them in this world of multi media. With films, video games, TV shows, comics, etc, everything looks the same to everyone looking at them. But with books, each reader brings the world to life in their own unique way. It creates a special, personalised attachment between the story and reader which I don't think any other media can replicate. And that's why I don't see the world of words falling away into disuse any time in the foreseeable future.
