• A Demonically delightful quartet of fan art

    25 June 2022

Like I do on most Saturdays, I'm devoting my blog to fan art, and today's theme is... The Demonata!!!

My 10 book series about demons left jaws adrop when it first came out, and fifteen years later, I think it hasn't lost any of its power to startle and shock!

The first drawing, of many of the major cast members, comes to us courtesy of HARUSE. This packs so much into a single panel -- I spot something new every time I look at it!

MAISIE treats us to a drawing of 1970s era Dervish -- the storyline switches backwards and forwards in time, starting in the present day with book 1, reaching back to the 70s in book 2, and all the way back to Celtic Ireland in book 4...

I love the way LIV catches Grubbs Grady's trademark smirk in the third photo! Grubbs was always a bit of a pain-in-the-ass rebel and that comes across perfectly here.

The final drawing, of Lord Loss, was done by JAKE, and sat in a folder in my office fore many years before I rediscovered it and scanned it in. I imagine Jake is all grown up by now, and most likely won't ever see this, but just in case I'm wrong and he comes across this post... Lord Loss says "Hi, Jake!!!"
