I normally post Shan family snaps on a Sunday, but I like to break it up every so often, so today I'm sharing snaps of a fan called Amity Lee who cosplayed a while back as Arra Sails from my Saga Of Darren Shan / Cirque Du Freak books. I think she captured Arra perfectly -- she even posted a short video on her Twitter page - https://twitter.com/missamitylee - and she's no slouch when it comes to spinning a staff either!!!

Amity Lee has drawn a lot of fan art over the years, and was the first person to draw fan art based on my Archibald Lox series. As a nod of thanks (and because I liked the name!) I've named a character after her in the 7th book in the series, Archibald Lox and the Sinkhole to Hell, which goes on sale at the end of this month. Will she be a force for good or evil?!? I'm not saying! But I will say that her appearance casts one of the series' main characters in a totally different light...
