Some Archibald Lox bits and pieces...

    1) The HARDBACK edition of Volume One:The Missing Princess (which collects the three shorter books that I released earlier this year) is now on sale through Amazon stores worldwide, and is starting to hit other stores too, such as Book Depository, Blackwells, Powells, Fishpond, etc. The hardback is twice the price of the paperback ($32 instead of $16, which the eBook is just $5). Personally, I think the paperback is much better value, but if you're a hardback fan and simply MUST have it, I'm pleased to say that it's a nicely produced edition, solid and beautiful, and I don't think you'll be disappointed. You can choose from any of the three editions by clicking on the following link to be directed to your local Amazon store: getbook.at/ArchieVolume1

    2) BUT... if you DO want to buy the HARDBACK, DON'T buy from Amazon before checking to see if you can get it cheaper from BOOK DEPOSITORY! It's currently on sale at a nice discount through the store's European branches (for instance, it costs less than €22 if you live in Ireland!), and if you can get it for $5 or $6 less than the cover price, I'd say it's certainly worth considering. Here's the link for Book Depository: https://www.bookdepository.com/Archibald-Lox-1-Darren-Shan/9781910009147

    3) If you've already bought the PAPERBACK from Amazon, you might be the owner of a rare unofficial first edition! When a book is print-on-demand, as the Archie books are, there's no real "official" first edition, unless the author makes substantial changes to the book at some point, or completely changes the cover. BUT there has been a tweak to the Volume One paperback. Basically, I set the book up with a matte cover, but decided to change it to gloss, as when I compared the two, I preferred the glossy look. But just under 60 books had already printed and shipped with the matte cover at that point. SO if you have one of those matte covers (less shiny than the gloss covers) you own one of less than 60 books that are the "unofficial" first edition. Congratulations!

    4) A quick reminder that if you want to buy the EBOOK of Volume One, it's on sale through a load of different sellers online, so you're not obliged to buy from Amazon. Stores that stock it include Apple, Kobo, B&N, Google Play, and plenty more. This link will show you everywhere (except Google Play) that it's on sale, for a wallet-pleasing $4.99: https://books2read.com/u/bzgLx9 And this is the link for Google Play: https://play.google.com/store/books/details/Darren_Shan_Archibald_Lox_Volume_1_The_Missing_Pri?id=w7ADEAAAQBAJ

    5) Lots of you have left REVIEWS for the three short eBooks on Amazon and other sites, for which you have my eternal thanks! But if you've read all three books, or go on to read the collected Volume One in the near future, it would be lovely if you could post a review on the Volume One page, as that's looking extremely bare on the reviews front just now... :-) getbook.at/ArchieVolume1

    6) Finally, don't forget that I'm running a COMPETITION on the Shanville Monthly this month, with sixteen extraordinarily rare Archibald Lox PROOFS up for grabs as prizes. Find out more and enter by clicking here: https://www.darrenshan.com/news/shanville-monthly
