I normally post family photos on a Sunday, BUT there's an offer on Amazon that I just HAD to bring to your attention today, as I'm not sure how long it's going to last. Yesterday a fan called Stephen dropped me a quick line, asking if I'd seen the price of the hardback edition of Archibald Lox Volume One: The Missing Princess on Amazon UK, and if the listed price was a mistake.

So, the hardback Volume One omnibus edition (which contains the first three books of the series) has a regular price of £25 in the UK, and the paperback edition is £17. BUT at the moment, you can buy the hardback for just £9.26 (a whopping saving of 63%) or the paperback edition for just £4.39 (an even bigger saving of 74%). Click here to buy either edition:

I had a look around, and while the normal price is being charged on some Amazon sites, a heavily reduced price is showing on others. For instance, in the USA the hardback is usually $32, but it's currently just $18.36, a very groovy saving of 43%. (The paperback price is the same as normal, $15.99, so I'd definitely recommend paying the couple of bucks extra for the hardback.) Click here:

Some European stores are charging the full amount of €28 for the hardback and €19 for the paperback, but France and Spain are both currently offering them at huge discounts of about 53% on the hardback and 70% on the paperback -- so the hardback costs about €13 and the paperback is about €5.50. I'm pretty sure either store will deliver to any country in Europe, as long as you can navigate the language barrier -- but in truth, every Amazon store is pretty much the same, and this shouldn't be too much of a barrier. (I even managed to order books from the Japanese site in the past!)

Now, I'm not sure WHY the prices are so low. I know Amazon sometimes lowers the prices of books for promotional purposes, so maybe this is intentional. Or maybe there's a glitch in its logarithms and this is a mistake on their part. Either way, I'm sure they have to honour the price, so if you don't already own a physical edition of The Missing Princess, this will probably be the best ever time to buy it, as I can't imagine it ever selling for a lower price, and I'll be surprised if the current low prices hold for very long.
In short -- buy now, or curse a missed opportunity later!!! :-)

Oh, and I'll just add that while the paperback edition is very nice, and certainly a steal at that incredibly low price, the hardback is a truly admirable big chunk of a book, and at that crazy low price I think it's worth paying the bit extra if you can afford it.
