In the depths of winter, it's nice to cast one's thoughts back to the summer, to keep the spirits up and remind oneself that warmer, sunnier days are on the way.

These photos were taken towards the end of August, on an especially lovely day. One of our neighbours, called Eleanor, invited us down to explore her property, and we spent a lovely hour or two wandering around.

Mrs Shan often complains that she doesn't get featured enough when I post photos, so let's kick things off with a shot of her! :-)

That's my daughter Gaia in the second and third photos, with my son Dante lounging on a tree between them.
