• Bec times 4

    11 August 2021

I normally post fan art on a Saturday, but had to skip it last weekend in order to post about my YALC online panel event with fellow authors Garth Nix, C. L. Clark and Hafsah Faizal -- if you haven't yet checked that out, click here: https://darrenshan.com/news/article/yalc-were-not-in-kansas-anymore

So I decided to make up for the lapse by posting four pieces of fan art today. They all feature everyone's favourite Celtic magician, Bec, but the artists have imagined her in some very different ways.

The first two are by a fan called Tony, who treats us to a sketch of Bec, and then the fully realised green-eyed version.

The next two are by another fan, called Emma, who decided to play around the DNA of our heroine, mising it up with those of the other two narrators of the series. So, in the first picture, we see Bec in a 1970s setting, as if she was a schoolgirl during the period in which Kernel Fleck's story starts, in Demon Thief. And in the final picture Emma imagines her going through lunar-inspired transformation, which is something Grubbs Grady had to face in Lord Loss.

    Enjoy!!!
