• Carleton High online event

    22 November 2021

I did a highly enjoyable online event with a lot of Year 7 students in Carleton High School last Friday. Thanks to the wonders of modern technology, the students in several different classrooms were able to join in, without having to leave their class or gather as a big bunch in a single room (I think COVID has put an end to such large gatherings in many schools). I read chapter two of Lord Loss to them (the first time in ages that I've read it out -- man, I've missed it!), then answered LOADS of questions.

I've attached some photos of the event (I look to be asleep in the third!), as well as some question posters from the pupils of 7X4, which they put together when they were preparing for the event. This was a great idea, and probably explains why there were so many good questions on the day -- the event ran for 45 minutes, but I felt like we could have gone another 45 and still not got through all the queries!! :-)

If YOU are a teacher or librarian (or if you're a student who wants to show this to your teacher or librarian), and are interested in contacting me to enquire about the possibility of arranging your own online event, please feel free to reach out and drop me a line using this email address: [email protected]

I don't charge, and I'm happy to talk about any of my series, be it Cirque Du Freak, The Demonata, Zom-B, or Archibald Lox -- or, indeed, any of my stand-alone books, such as Koyasan or The Thin Executioner. I don't say YES to every request, but if you're well organised and can put together a sizeable group of students, like the staff at Carleton High did, then you've got a VERY good chance of snagging me!
