• Caves of Drach!

    15 September 2019

The Shan clan stayed in a hotel near Porto Cristo when we went on holiday to Mallorca in August. There's an incredible cave system on the edge of town -- the Caves of Drach. I got very excited when I first saw the name, as I immediately thought of Dracula, but alas, Drach is Spanish for Dragon, not our old friend the Count. But I wasn't too disappointed -- the caves are incredible, some of the finest I've ever seen, and we even got to go on a boat ride on an underground lake. They pack the tourists in like sardines, which is a bit of a pity, but still definitely worth a visit if you ever find yourself in the area.

We walked into the town of Porto Cristo after our visit to the caves, and found a climbing frame in the main town square. Dante loved it, and started crowing like a cockerel at one point. Mrs Shan swiftly captured the moment on camera, while a bewildered Gaia looked on and most likely wondered, "What the Drac?!?" :-)
