• Chibi Chibi Chibi!!!

    23 November 2020

It's the age-old story -- you wait years for a Cirque Du Freak Chibi, then two come along at the same time! :-) For those not in the know, Chibi is a Japanese slang word describing something short (a thing, an animal or a person). It comes from the verb "chibiru," which means 'to wear out and become shorter' (the tip of something). And yes, I DID just copy that information from Wikipedia! :-)

The first is a Chibi of Mr Crepsley, drawn by a fan on Twitter with the user handle of InkyAnchor. I've got to say, he comes across quite handsomely as a Chibi...

...perhaps a bit TOO handsomely for his nemesis, Steve, who seems even angrier than usual in the second Chibi, drawn by a fan called Coro! I wouldn't to get on the wrong side of THIS little monster, no matter how teeny he might be!!! :-)

I haven't yet seen any Chibis of characters from my new Archibald Lox series... (If I've ever dropped a more blatantly shameless hint that that one, I can't remember!!!) If you haven't yet started with the new books, you can find out more about them here: https://www.darrenshan.com/news/shanville-monthly
