• Coaster o’clock

    28 August 2020

While most fan art focuses on characters from my books, sometimes budding artists draw inspiration from more left of field zones, hence today's pairing of a nicely unusual couple of drawings.

The first is by a fan called Laura and features a personalised coaster that Mr Crepsley uses for his mugs of ale in Vampire Mountain -- maybe Seba Nile made it for him, during the years between Vampire Councils? No prizes for guessing the identity of the eight-legged beauty depicted on the coaster!

The second drawing's by a fan called Nicole, who wanted to bring Mr Tiny's heart-shaped watch to life, and did so in a stunning triptych. There have been some really cool drawings of Mr Tiny's watch over the years -- this is definitely up there with my favourite renditions of it. But wait! What's that I hear? Is it Mr Tiny whispering? Yes, I think it is. And if we listen very closely, I think we can just about make out what he's saying...

    "Tick-tock, it's death o'clock!!"

Damn! Now why didn't I think of that line twenty years ago, so that I could have used it in the books?!? :-)
