It's Tattoo Tuesday time again, and although I almost always only feature one tattoo, this week it's a very rare double offering, and comes to us courtesy of RUBEN and JESS, who both chose one of my lesser known quotes, from SLAWTER, the third book of my Demonata series.

Ruben posted their tattoo first, on the Darren Shan Discussions group on Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/839821919370288/ Ruben included the following reason for opting for this particular quote: "A reminder to myself to keep going, despite the worst the world has to throw at you. I was always drawn to this quote because in context, it's not so sunshiney and relentlessly positive. It's always been hard to tell myself that things are going to get better, that life is going to be amazing, because it doesn't feel genuine. What is true, however, is that I won't know unless I stick around. I'm going to keep breathing, so the story can keep going."

Jess responded with a photo of her tattoo, as well as a pic of the page of the book where it appears, and said: "Awh, we’ve got twin tattoos!! I hope yours supports you through the dark times in life like mine has over the years."

I always feel honoured when a fan chooses to get a tattoo inspired by my work, but these two touched me even more than most. Even in life, may you both be triumphant, Ruben and Jess!!!!
