German review and covers
22 March 2021There was a nice German review a few months back for The Vampire Prince, book 6 of my Saga Of Darren Shan / Cirque Du Freak series. You can check it out by clicking on the following link, and if, like me, German isn't your native tongue, you can copy the text and paste it into Google Translate or some such similar service for a very clear translation.

The cover in the photo, by the way, is from the German paperback edition. My books never really took off in Germany. My publishers there gave them quite a big launch, but for whatever reason interest dwindled as the series continued, and they became more of a cult success than a mainstream success. The first nine books were published in hardback, with quirky covers that I really liked. Then they brought out the paperbacks (and thankfully went all the way to book 12 with them) with a completely different style -- again, I liked the covers, but they didn't tempt back the masses. That's the way it goes in the world of international publishing -- some countries you win, some countries you lose.
If you'd to check out all the German covers, including those they produced for The Demonata (they stopped at book 6) and my adult novel Lady Of The Shades (to be fair, they kept trying!!), click here: https://darrenshan.com/covers/country/germany2
