It was Mrs Shan's birthday a while back -- 29 years old, of course!! (Back at a school event a couple of decades ago, when someone asked how old I was, I said 29 -- which I was at the time -- and a few girls sniggered. I didn't understand why until it was explained to me that ladies of a certain age bracket often say that they're 29 if asked that indelicate question!) We had a small family party for her at home, then headed for Curraghchase forest park in the afternoon for a stroll and some yummy ice cream -- just look at the sheer delight on Gaia's face as she tucks in!!
