• Happy Birthday to Brian

    17 November 2021

A lady called Mel wrote to me recently, asking if I'd send a letter to her boyfriend Brian for his 37th birthday, which is next week. I was happy to oblige, and Brian was very happy when his letter arrived -- and doubly happy when his copy of Volume 2 of Archibald Lox arrived at around the same time!! I don't think any Shanster could wish for better birthday gifts than that!!!! :-)

If you haven't yet delved into the worlds of Archibald Lox, as you can see from the photo, the omnibus Volumes are BIG bundles of joy! The first was just over 500 pages, and the second clocked in around the 600 page mark. (Volume 3, coming next year, will be a similar sort of length.) You can buy them as smaller books (there are three books per Volume) but my advice, if you're new to the series, is to go for the Volumes, especially if you want to buy them as paperback books, as they work out a lot cheaper that way. (They also present the storylines the way I originally wrote them, as single, massive story arcs, and in my opinion that's the best way to read them.) There are hardback editions too, which are beautiful to behold, though they'll set you back a tidy bit more, unless you manage to snag one at a discounted price from Amazon or Books Depository -- Volume 1 is often on sale at a big discount, though I haven't seen the Volume 2 price drop yet...

Oh, and if you're planning on buying the Volumes as eBooks, I'd recommend waiting until next week, when Volume 1 will be on sale at a VERY large discount!
