• Ladies’ Day fan art

    19 March 2022

I feature fan art in most of my Saturday posts, and today's no different, except for one crucial twist -- I'm declaring this a Ladies' Day and only including drawings of feisty females!!

The first, by Noel, is a two-for-one, and focuses on Alice Burgess and Debbie Hemlock from my Cirque Du Freak books. As long-time fans might recall me mentioning in the past, I'd intended for these to pair up romantically as well as professionally, back when I was planning to write between 20 and 24 books in the series. Ultimately, when I decided to draw the line at book 12, there wasn't room to shoehorn in that particular development, but in my mind they most definitely WERE destined end up together, so it was lovely to see them drawn side by side here.

The second, by Liv, is a sketch of Arra Sails, the boss of the bars in Vampire Mountain, and sometimes holder of the keys to Mr Crepsley's heart.

The third, by Kanda, is modeled after Debbie Hemlock as depicted in the Cirque Du Freak manga. Very cute!!

While the fourth, again a sketch by Liv, branches out towards my Demonata series, and features Juni Swan, of whom I won't say much, not wishing to give away any spoilers for those of you who might not yet have read those books. (If you haven't, you *really* need to!!! It's not my favourite series -- I don't have a fave -- but it IS the one I'm proudest of.)
