    06 August 2019

Italian reviewer Frankie has been working their way through all twelve books in my Saga Of Darren Shan. There's been a delay with the last few, because Frankie has started publishing them on a new site, but here's the link to Frankie's review of book 10, Lake Of Souls, on the old site -- as always, if you don't speak Italian, just copy and paste the text into something like Google Translate: https://aratakblog.blogspot.com/2019/06/recensione-lake-of-souls-darren-shan.html

Frankie didn't like book 10 as much as other books in the series, largely because someone had spoiled one of the big twists for them, Harkat's true identity. Lake Of Souls has been a big fan divider ever since it was published. It has a very different tone and pace to the other books. Some fans loved that -- others were less impressed. Interestingly, on Twitter last week, a popular hashtag was #3FaveBooksWhenIWasAKid and Lake Of Souls popped up a few times. It hasn't developed the same kind of a fan base as Bec, one of my other books that divided readers when it was first published but has since become one of my more popular novels, but there certainly is love out there for it... in some lonely corners of the wastelands... :-)
