• Larten young and old

    07 October 2020

We're pressing on with our Shansters cosplaying as characters from my books, and today it's a double feature that captures Mr Crepsley at very different times of his life, and in two very different frames of mind.

The first photo was shared with me by Ashley, who dressed up as Mr Crepsley in his prime, full of vim and vigor, enjoying himself as a confident, free-living creature of the night.

In the second photo, a fan called Blaise decided to recreate the look of young Larten Crepsley on the cover of the American hardback of Birth Of A Killer, the first of four books that explored his life across the two hundred years before he met Darren and Steve at the Cirque Du Freak. It's a brilliant recreation that perfectly captures Larten in one of the darkest moments of his existence, alone, lost, in pain, facing into a very uncertain future, and munching down -- as one does at such moments -- on a nice big fistful of cobwebs...
