• Limerick’s Greenway

    13 February 2022

Back in the summer, the Shans (with Bapcia, Mrs Shan's mother) headed for Limerick's brand new Greenway, a 40 kilometre smooth path through the countryside, built over an old, disused railway line, which is perfect for cycling or walking -- you can check out their web site here: https://www.limerick.ie/greenway

There are several places where you can park and join the route. We got on at Barnagh and went for a short stroll, through an old tunnel, to a cute, renovated railway station. We had a lovely time walking along, and I played a round of crszy golf with Dante at the end, and took the kids into a small playground which sits at the entrance. This is a fabulous addition to the county, and I highly recommend it if you're in the region -- it's probably even better by bike than it is on foot, and you can rent bicycles if you don't weant to bring your own. Here are some photos -- as you can see, although my daughter Gaia started out on foot, she soon found a better way to travel -- high on the shoulders of the Shan Express!!
