• Mr Crepsley and friends

    23 October 2021

Normally, when fans choose to do a drawing of Mr Crepsley, they draw him by himself, which is utterly appropriate, given he was such a solitary, brooding figure for most of his life. But sometimes they choose to draw him in the company of other characters from the books, and today I'm featuring three of those pairings.

The first two images feature characters from The Saga Of Larten Crepsley, the prequel series of four books that tells the story of his life over the two hundred years before he ran into Darren and Steve at the Cirque Du Freak.

The first, by Keroromo, sees him with Alicia, one of the great loves of his life, as important to him as Arra Sails was -- and in some ways he was even closer to her than he was to Arra.

The second, by Yonatee, finds him with Malora, who might have edged out both Alicia and Arra in hsi affections, had they only shared enough time together, but alas... :-(

The third, by Mike Yoshi, positions him with a sulky young assistant who went by the name of Darren Shan -- whatever the hell happened to that guy?!? :-)

I hope you all love these three drawings as much as I do. I could stare at them for minutes at a time and think of nothing else around me... and I have.
