• Mr Crepsley oddities

    13 April 2022

Mr Crepsley continues to captivate readers all these years after his first (and, indeed, final) appearance in my books. I always say he's my favourite out of all the characters I've created (though normally not before joking that of course Darren Shan has to be my fave!) and I think most of my readers would nominate him as their favourite too. I've featured loads of Mr Crepsley fan art over the last couple of decades (and counting), but today I thought I'd share a few more unusual takes on him...

The first photo features a cosplaying Master Jones, who dressed up as Mr Crepsley last Halloween. The fabulous Madam Octa was hand-knitted by his mother, Faith, so I've included a close-up of that too!

Next there's a kind of shrine to Mr Crepsley, pieced together by a fan called Evie, who also wrote the poem that follows. She said she wrote the poem quite a few years ago, and is a bit embarrassed by it now, but I think it's a really cooly little poem -- Mr Crepsley would have enjoyed it, although of course he'd have need Evie or some other kind soul to actually read it out to him... :-)
