Five Nights At Freddy's is still going strong in the theatres -- my 9 year old son is VERY keen to see it, and in Ireland it has a 15A certificate, which means under 15's can go if accompanied by an adult, so it looks like the pair of us might be popping along to see it at some point over the coming weekend. Normally we take a few friends of his along wiht us, but I'm not sure what the etiquette is for inviting 9 years olds to the cinema to see a film more suited for 15 year olds!!! Hmmm... I'll need to consult with the oracle that is Mrs Shan!!!!

One of the stars of the film, of course, is Josh Hutcherson, better know to those of us in the Cirque Du Freak universe as the silver screen's Steve Leopard!! There was an article on NBC recently, looking at Josh's career highlights before Five Nights At Freddy's, and Cirque Du Freak was one of the films they pinpointed. As they correctly noted, the film was "a bit of a cult hit that didn't find a mainstream audience," but that Josh put in "a strong turn in a bad guy role that could have had some interesting legs if the movie was more successful." I'd agree with that analysis too -- while the film took a lot of liberty's with the plot of the first three books, and Steve's story arc across them, I thought Josh was perfectly cast in the role -- it wasn't HIS fault that the writer/director changed so much about the character!
