• St Patrick’s Day 2023

    17 March 2023

HAPPY ST PATRICK'S DAY, everyone!! I must admit, I don't normally do a lot on the day -- it's never meant that much to me, I don't wear green or go to one of the many parades that we have in Ireland to celebrate the occasion. I have, in the past, enjoyed going out for a few drinks with friends on the day, but since my kids came along, nights out with the lads are a rarity! Like Easter, it's a holiday I'm always aware of but never overly bothered about. (Although, having said that, I DO always make sure to buy a very nice Easter Egg for myself!!!)

Today, as I did last year, I took my son Dante to the Aquadome in Tralee. (Mrs Shan and Gaia are away for a week, so we were by ourselves.) We got there nice and early, and it was incredibly quiet, as I assumed most of the locals were getting ready for the parade. We had a lovely couple of hours there, before slipping away to Burger King for our lunch. And then, as the parade ended and the crowds started to stream out, we hit for home. That's the kind of quiet St Patrick's Day I LIKE!!! :-) :-) :-)
