I don't think anyone will be surprised that I enjoy reading to my two little Shans, although I must admit we don't read anywhere near as many books as we probably should. Dante has recently been enjoying the likes of the Wayside School and Dog Man series, while Gaia is loving Meg And Mog (especially the one in which they fly to the moon), The Gruffalo (don't you know?!?), and, as you can see from these four photos, Stick Man.

I did plan to try my hand at some picture books many years back, for younger kids (writing, not drawing -- I even struggle to draw a decent smiley face!). I was inspired again when we had Dante, but never got round to developing any ideas. Now that I'm back in that world with Gaia, I've had a few more thoughts. Maybe I'll pull the creative finger out third time round and actually crack on and give it a go...

...or maybe I'll wait until I have grandkids...
