The neverending summer
05 December 2021I still have quite a few photos in my New Photos folder dating back to the summer months, that I'm slowly sharing across a seemingly neverending array of Sunday Shan Clan posts. Mrs Shan likes to take a LOT of photos when we're out and about!! We often grumble about it when she's pointing her phone and at us and telling us to say CHEESE! but I must admit it's lovely looking back at them all these months later, in the middle of winter, and remembering longer, warmer days.
The first, featuring Mrs Shan and Dante, was taken on a fairy walk in the grounds of the lovely Fota Island Resort, where we stayed on our summer holiday in Cork. Let's all sing together now -- "We are Family! I've got all my fairies and me!!!" :-)
The next two were taken in Fota Widlife Park, when we visited one day during our holiday on the island. It's a seriously impressive zoo, and I've posted some photos of us with the animals before, but these two were taken as the kids played among some trees as we were wending our way around the park. Dante looks unusually serious and much older than his years in this one, I feel...
The final picture was taken not long after our trip to Cork, when we set off on one of our many day-trips to our local beach in Ballybunion, which is an easy one hour's drive away from where we live -- it was a regular feature of my childhood, and I'm thrilled that my children love it as much as I did when I was a nipper. This shot of a grinning Gaia in a puddle brings me a lot of joy every time I gaze at it.
