• The normal and the weird

    22 November 2020

As on most Sundays, I'm sharing some Shan clan photos, but this week I'm offering up a couple of strange, random snaps, along with a couple of more "normal" pics.

Let's start with the one that dates back the furthest -- by more than a quarter of a century! In my early twenties, I grew my hair very long (as in, heavy metal rocker long) for a few years, then decided to shave it all off. After it had grown back a bit, I decided to shave it again, but this time to see what I looked like with a short Mohican-style haircut. The answer -- I didn't look too good! I only sported the cut for a few weeks, and it's never been seen since. I didn't think there were any photos of me from that time period, but look what cropped up recently...

Next up we have the "normal" snaps, one of my daughter Gaia playing in some autumnal leaves, the other of my son Dante proudly showing off a conker that he's picked.

The fourth is a split photo and this is where things get properly strange! Look at the two snaps carefully. The first features my daughter Gaia playing in a car in a shopping mall -- I actually shared this before, several weeks ago. While in the other half of the photo, she's playing in a little playhouse. Nothing strange there, right?

    Ah-hah!! Wrong!!!! Look again!!!!

Have you worked it out yet?

    No???

    OK, here's the answer...

The kid in the second half of the photo ISN'T Gaia -- it's a kid who lives in Hungary!! And it's not even a girl -- it's a boy!!! His parents spotted my original post and were astonished to see "their son" hanging out in a shopping centre in Ireland, so they sent me a snap of their little fella to prove how similar they looked.

    It's a strange old world, isn't it?!? :-)
