• Two weeks to Tunbridge Wells

    16 April 2022

Two weeks from today, on Saturday April 30th at 2pm, I'll be doing my first live-in-the-flesh event in almost three years, and my first in England in six years! It will be part of the Tunbridge Wells Literary Festival, which takes place over the bank holiday weekend at the end of this month.

I'm going to start my event by reading out an extract from one of my Archibald Lox books. If you're unfamiliar with that series, here's a drawing of its two main characters, Archie and Inez, by a fan called Amity Lee. (I've shared this drawing before, but it's so brilliant, I couldn't resist sharing it again!)

After that I'll take some questions, then read an extract from my Zom-B series, which features such "charming" characters as the crazy killer clown, Mr Dowling, drawn to putrid perfection here by Liv.

I'll take more questions at that stage, before reading a scene from my Demonata series -- without giving any spoilers away, I think it's safe to assume that Lord Loss will pop up in it, and here's a chilling drawing of him by Maisie.

There will hopefully be time for a few more questions, before I round the event off with a reading from Cirque Du Freak, dating back to the time when Darren and Steve were still the best of buddies, as depicted in the final bittersweet drawing by Noel.

If YOU can make it to the south east of England in two weeks' time, and would like to come along to hear me chat and have some of your Darren Shan books signed afterwards, tickets are still on sale, and you can buy them here: https://theamelia.co.uk/tw-lit-fest/darren-shan/
