I'm going to wrap up my "Week of International Reviews" (well, in reality it's "Four days of International Reviews" but that doesn't scan so neatly!) with an American review for Archibald Lox And The Vote Of Alignment, the third book of the first Volume of my latest series. It appeared on Goodreads, and is by a reader called Thomas Paxton. I think, if you're unfamiliar with my Archibald Lox books, it will give you a nice feel for the series, without including any spoilers.

My Archie books are very different to my other work. The most obvious difference is that they're fantasy, not horror, so there's none of the gore of my other main series. They're more carefully paced as well -- while I certainly wouldn't say they're slow moving, the plot doesn't advance as frantically as it did in The Demonata or Zom-B. And while they're as packed with twists as any of my books, some of those twists tend to reveal themselves more subtly and cerebally than in my other work -- i.e. while there are twists that will make you gasp, there are also twists that will make you just smile or scratch your head.

Hey, they're not going to be for everyone, but the first Volume has had a far warmer response that I was anticipating, and hopefully that will build through the Volume 2 books when I release them over the course of the summer, and the story expands and deepens, and we get to see a lot more of this strange other universe, and start to work out Archie's role in it...
