An artistically talented Shanster called ZERO drew a lot of pieces based on the first few books of my Cirque Du Freak series last year. Each one was quite minimalistic, and the same plain shade, and I think they looked brilliant as a set! I featured four of them in a post a while back. Now here are four more, all based on events in the first book.

In the first drawing, Mr Crepsley awakes one evening to find all is not well in the cellar of the building where the Cirque Du Freak is temporarily based...

In the second, Darren's sister Annie bursts into his bedroom, at a most unfortunately timed moment...

In the third, Darren tries to rid himself of Madam Octa, only to spot her being snatched from the jaws of the night by an unexpected hand...

And in the fourth, Mr Crepsley and Darren wait in the rain for a bus. OK, this scene isn't actually in book 1, but instead is based on a scene mentioned in the second book. But it seemed to fit in neatly here, so I've grouped it with the other three. (Zero actually drew another couple of bus stop scenes, which I'm looking forward to sharing with you in a future post.)
