Grubbs Grady finally comes into his own as a master of magic - reluctantly. Shan's visceral fiction is so good. It's amazing to think that a generation ago this would have been considered adult fiction. The DEMONATA goes from strength to strength. Like J K Rowling, Shan has brought children back to reading with a vengeance.
