Jane Bullock Reviews | 10 March 2013 | Jane Bullock

Darren Shan's previous book saga 'The Saga Of Darren Shan' written for children and young adults was an excellent read, and a personal favorite of mine. That is why I was so excited to read his recently released novel, aimed at Adults. 'Lady Of The Shades' is a thrilling story about an American author, Edward "Ed" Sievking, visiting England in search of inspiration for his newest book. Ed soon comes across trouble when becoming involved with the enchanting Andeanna Manderes. Shan's book are often packed with shocking twists and turns, and he didn't fail to impress this time. The style of writing used is well adapted to appeal to the target audience, after writing so much work for children previously. Overall I would rate this book 4/5 stars for a gripping story which you just don't want to put down! I am not surprised, as Darren Shan has never failed to impress before. I look forward to reading more of his work.
